Win a Logo From 99designs and AffPlan

by Todd Farmer | 13 comments

Over the last couple of weeks we have been working on a new logo design through 99designs. Today we are happy to announce that we will be giving away a logo design package (worth $299) to one of our readers.

There are four ways that you can enter below.

  • First we would like you to check out the designs we are considering and tell us in a comment which is your favorite.
  • After you do that, it will open up the other 3 ways for you to enter: follow us on Twitter, like our Facebook page, and spread the word about the contest on Twitter.

If you don’t know much about 99designs, the process is simple. You tell them exactly what you are looking for in a logo. Designers on the site then compete by submitting proposed logos. Throughout the process you provide feedback to the designers so that they can make the designs even better. You let your friends and fans vote on which ones they like best, but in the end you ultimately decide which you will use. For graphics-challenged content producers like me, it’s a terrific opportunity!

So go take a look at our final design proposals and come back and leave a comment about which is your favorite. Be sure to use the checkboxes on the Rafflecopter box to register your various entries. Contest ends August 07, 2012, at midnight.

I think #14 and #15 are the same, but that’s the one I like. The only change I’d ask for is to remove the gradient and keep with solid colors – you’ll regret the gradient later if you move into printed or promotional materials.

My favorite is #31. I like adding grey into the color combination and it’s very sleek. Some great entries though!

#5. I;m not a fan of the AP ones…I think those letters are used in took many other contexts.

I think #6 and #14 are my favorites. I like the checklist and the feeling it sends of getting things done.

I like no. 25. I think it does a good job of representing the interaction between you and your members, and between affiliates and merchants.

Among others, I like the #14. I think the checklist shows well the relationship that takes place between affplan and its members in which a clear/step-by-step plan is provided by affplan for members/clients to accomplish their affiliate goals.

    My vote is for #38.

Here’s tip for the winner of the contest, in case it isn’t me. Do your research and study the work of the artists who compete and produce winning designs on this site. Make a list and invite those artists to participate in the design contest. You’ll get more results to choose from. We used this company at my day job for two different contests. Second contest I used my suggestion and saw a huge difference between the first and second contest.

My favorite is #22. I like the simplicity, colors, the line under “AffPlan” – because it makes your name stand out and lastly I like the check mark – because it is a positive indicator.

I like the bolder colors as opposed to the lighter. My favorite is #36. It is bold and simple with a strong font.

Probably 14 would be my choice. But I also like 36 and 38.

Whichever you go with, make sure you can flatten it to black and white without sacrificing anything.

In my opinion, #18 is the one that best fit the current trend design – clean and minimal. But, it could be better if it can keep even simpler. Those others have too much effect on a logo, doesn’t really look clean enough. Even twitter and microsoft have dropped their previous logos and went towards a much simpler one – just light blue colour. So #18!
